Founded in May 2003, Institute of Institutional Research is a core institution of Research Center of University Development, HUST as a Hubei Provincial Key Research Base in Humanities and Social Sciences, a president Unit of Society of Research of Universities of China Association of Higher Education, Professor Liu Xianjun is the President; currently, Institute of Institutional Research is qualified for Master’s Degree Program of Educational Economy and Management and Doctorial Degree Program of Educational Economy and Management.
Institute of Institutional Research mainly engages in Study of Institutional Research Theories and Methods of Chinese Characteristics, Study of Strategic Planning and Strategic Management of Higher Education Universities, and Institutional Consulting Research etc, of which Institutional Management and Development Research is well known and has significant domestic influence; Institute of Institutional Research has undertaken over 10 subject research projects, including Key Subject Tackling Projects of Ministry of Education, Planning Research Subjects of The National Social Science Fund of China for “the 11th Five-year Plan”, Research Subjects of Department of Social Sciences of Ministry of Education, Subjects of New Century Teaching Research Institute of Ministry of Education etc; recently, Institute of Institutional Research has focused on construction ofn institutional research case base and institutional research data base.
