Li Wei, Li Muchuan in pen name, PhD in Education, Associate Professor, Master’s Supervisor of The School of Education, Huazhong University of Science and Technology; Research Fellow of Institute for Moral Education, Central China Normal University, Correspondent Researcher of Institute for New Basic Education, Central China Normal University, Founder of “Research On Chinese Head Teachers Roundtable Forum”, and Convener of Executive Committee of “Center for Courage Renewal of Chinese Teachers” Organizing Committee.

Li Wei has studied his master’s and doctorial courses with the supervisors of Ms. Ye Lan, a famous Professor of Pedagogy at East China Normal University and Mr. Tu Yanguo, a privileged Professor of Pedagogy at the School of Education, Central China Normal University, respectively. His research interests include Basic Theories of Education, Modern School Reform,Research on Students’ and Teachers’ Development etc.He has successively published over 30 academic papers on Journal of Higher Education, Research in Educational Development, Educational Research and Experiment and Guangming Daily etc, authored Criticism and Reconstruction: Individual “Life Consciousness” and Contemporary School Education (HUST Press) and System Approach for Head Teachers in Their Works (ECNU Press), and translated Handbook for Qualities of Effective Teachers (China Light Industry Press).He is the leader of one general subject research project of the National Social Science Foundation of China(“Workshop: Case Studies on New Model for Professional Development of Head Teachers”)and one key research subject of Educational Science for "the 12thFive-year Plan" of Hubei Province, and a member of the research group of “Research on the Survival and Development of Schools of Children in Contemporary China”, a major project of Key Research Bases of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Ministry of Education,Institute of Basic Education Reform and Development, East China Normal University.He has been invited to give more than 30 speeches successively at national training and provincial training sessions for schoolmasters, backbone teachers, head teachers etc.in Hubei, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shanghai, Xinjiang, Guangdong, Fujian, Xi’an and Guangxi etc., with fervent response.In recent years, he has achieved great practical results and research findings from practical and theoretical explorations in “Teachers’ Workshops”,held at primary and middle schools and universities with significant domestic influence, and delivered academic reports at international conferences and forums with a lot of wows from foreign peers.

Practical Influence and Foundation of Academic Organizations

1. Li Wei has been successively invited to guide school development planning and subject researches, curriculum development, classroom teaching and professional development of teachers etc at primary and middle schools and colleges, such as Wuchang Experimental Primary School, Wuhan Primary School, Primary School Attached to HUST, Xinzhou Zhucheng No.4 Primary Schoold of Wuhan, Wuhan Optics Valley No.2 Senior High School, Wuhan Wujiashan No.4 Middle School and Wenhua College etc.He has founded and presided “Rainbow” Head Teachers Workshop, “Rambler” Head Teachers Workshop, “Spot & Star” Teachers Workshop, “Meeting You” Teachers Development Workshop and “Developing Core Qualities of Students at Primary School Attached to HUST” Development Work at Wuhan Wujiashan No.4 Middle School, Wuhan Optics Valley No.2 Senior High School, Wuchang Experimental Primary School, Wenhua College and Primary School Attached to HUST with resonant response.

2. He is also one of the fourinitiators (with Li Jiacheng, Xiong Huasheng and Zhao Fujiang)of “Roundtable Forumon Research of Chinese Head Teachers”, presided and organized four events in Shanghai, Wuhan, Beijing and Shanghai with great effect.Now,it has become a very influential academic forum for study on head teachers, domestically.

3.He is the Convener of Executive Committee of “Center for Courage Renewal of Chinese Teachers” Organizing Committee (Dr. Wu Guozhen, Department of Education,Peking Normal University,the translator of The Courage to Teach, is the primary founder), presided and organized four events in Shanghai, Beijing, Xi’an and Shandong.He is the proposed organizer of the 5thCourage Renewal of Chinese Teachers to be held in 2018 on behalf of Wuhan.

4. He has attended the seminar of the research project for studying current status of works by head teachers in primary and middle schools held in Beijing as an advisory expert of the Ministry of Education (Beijing, 2015).
